Here are our top 20+ Tokyo Family Fun locations open from January 2nd, 2019. Spending New Years in Tokyo can be a calm and relaxing time to spend with family, but as a moms we know by Dec 31st your kids are bouncing off the walls. We spend December 31st and January 1st visiting temples, cooking and make crafts. But come January 2nd we ride our bikes all over the empty city enjoying the cold but beautiful blue sky weather. Luckily many great Tokyo family Fun locations are open from January 2nd and many are free or reduced cost.
1. Edo-Tokyo Museum

Access: 1 min walk from the Ryogkoku Stations on the Oedo subway line or 3 min walk from the Ryogoku station (West Exit) on the JR Sobu Line

3. Miraikan – Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation

4. National Museum of Nature and Science

Notes: If you plan on staying in Tokyo for a year or more, I recommend getting the annual pass. It`s the price of three visits, your family will avoid the long lines and you`ll receive a coupon book for use in the facility.
7. Tokyo Joypolis

11. Tokyo Disney Sea

Access: 5 min walk from Suidobashi Station on the JR Chuo-Soba, or Mita Line. 10 minute walk from Korakuen Station on the Marunouchi or Namboku Lines, 8 mins walk from Kasuga Station on the Oedo Line. Tokyo Dome also has parking – ask for your discount ticket when you leave ASOBono

Access: Take a train from Yokohama to Tsurugamine or Mitsukyo Station on the Sotetsu Line or to Nakayama Station on the JR Yohohama Line. Then take a bus bound for the Yokohama Dobutsuen (Yokohama Zoo)/Zoorasia (15min).
It`s about an hour from Tokyo by car. We put the Zoorasia phone number in our car navigation and it took us to the main parking lot.
