*** Tokyo One Day Itinerary: Jiyugaoka with Kids  ***

Located a short 2 min walk is Jiyugaoka Playground Park and the 800+ year old Kumano Shrine.

Jiyugaoka Playground Park has updated playground equipment, two swings, sandpit and ample space to let little ones run around. Located 2 minutes from the park is the 800+ year old Kumano Shrine. There is a long pathway that leads to the majestic shrine with a small three-seater spring rider. The shrine sponsors the annual Jiyugaoka International Friendship Mikoshi Festival in early September. A great spot to meet locals and join in on the festivities.

Bread & Espresso Jiyugaoka is a clean and bright cafe located a short walk from Jiyugaoka station. They are baby friendly have a spacious terrace, perfect for beginner walkers. Located next to Bread & Espresso sits Shutters Luz, a great spot to have an easy family-friendly lunch or dinner. Popular with mothers this location is bright and spacious, and offers stroller seating at the table. They serve deliciously tender soy sauce or salt and pepper flavored ribs as well as curries, pastas, salads & dessert. With locations all over Tokyo it`s a great spot for families.

Take out Hokkaido Milk, Cheese and agricultural products on their 1st floor cafe space or stay for lunch on their 2nd floor cafe & play space. Enjoy the rich, creamy goodness of Hokkaido dairy products while enjoying videos of their farms on their wall tvs. Young kids can play in the play area with cow costume & books (Japanese language only) while you wait for your meal. Hidden in a small nook of the Dove Building (located across from the right wall of the Tokyu Store) is Omocha no Mami, a small toy store run by an adorable elderly couple. They carry everything from Transformers to LOL dolls, Mell Chan dolls to Power Rangers. Kids will love playing with the toys on display. Note there are more toys in the basement! Warning… they might not want to leave!

Located less than a 5 minute walk from the toy store, walking away from the station, you`ll pass a Starbucks on your way to Okusawa Nichome Playground Park. Grab a cup of Jo and let your kids run wild at the local park. It`s equip with a large enclosed sandpit, slide, swing, spring riders and climbing net.

Post play break stop in Cuoca –  a one-stop shop for baking supplies that aren’t always easy to find. Located across the street and 1 minute from the park Cuoca is stocked with everything from baking inserts and pans to sprinkles and toppers. They carry pastry tips and icing, a variety of high-quality flours, nuts, dried fruits, liqueur and oils. What`s most impressive is their impressive chocolate cellar that is specially designed to keep high-quality chocolate (Belgian, Italian, French, and Swiss) at just the right temperature.
